Position Overview The Field Service Technician is responsible for performing field service work on all types of windows manufactured by Quaker throughout the United States. This will encompass, but is not limited to, removing windows and doors for repair, and disassembling whole or parts of windows and doors for repair.
Duties and Responsibilities Travel to j ob s ites to m eet with c lients Observe the completion of field product tests and installations to ensure compliance with company and industry standards Conduct root-cause analysis to identify source of any quality issue Meet with customers / contractors / end users onsite to review findings and establish appropriate countermeasures Operate precision measurement devices to perform inspection Repair Windows and Doors Identify and troubleshoot moderate to complex issues R emov e windows and doors for repair D isassembl e whole or parts of windows and doors for repair. I nteract with customers on a daily basis Gather information & present findings to respond to questions from customers, co-workers and managers Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location. I nteract and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner. Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis. Compile data to produce reports and documentation relevant to assigned highly complex projects P lan, prioritize and monitor repair activities . C omplete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner . Supervisory Responsibility No direct management or supervisory responsibilities .
Safety Observe safety and security policies and procedures , including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) ; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. F ollow job-specific safety requirements such as Ladder Safety, Power and Manual Tool Safety, Safe Lift and Scaffold Safety . The individual must follow all safe driv ing laws and any on-site safety requirements.
Travel Extensive travel is required . Work is performed at the customer's home or place of business . Overnight travel is normally required . Meal per diems are provided and hotel charges are covered.
Qualifications An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required .
Mechanical comprehension of windows and doors Must have ability to read architectural drawings, sho p drawings and factory orders Must be comfortable with heights and working off lifts Proficient u sage of h and and p ower t ools Valid Class E d river's l icense & a s afe d riving r ecord Must be a ble to use n avigation t ools Preferred Education and Experience The expectation is that the individual has achieved a minimum level of education and/or related expertise to qualify for this position.
High School diploma or GED Minimum 2 years Construction or Window Manufacturing E xperience Competencies and Skills Attention to D etail Professionalism Customer Service Focused Safety Focused Independent Work & a Team Based Mindset Reading and Comprehension Skills Communication Proficiency & Listening Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Extensive travel throughout the United States is required and hours will vary. A minimum of 40 hours per week will be required . Trucks will depart early Monday and return Friday afternoons, but this is subject to change. Occasional weekend work is a possibility.

It is an essential job function and safety rule , applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position , to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner .
Work Environment While performing the duties of this j ob, the employee is exposed to climactic variations , fumes or airborne particles , various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection .
