This is a remote position, so our service truck would go home with you in the evenings. As a Field Service Technician, you will travel to customer sites to diagnose, rebuild, repair, perform inspections and preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment, and prepare and maintain records and reports. You will work under limited supervision and perform work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.Essential FunctionsKnowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenanceDiagnose mechanical and electrical problems and perform repairsUnderstand safety practices and proceduresMechanical design and fabricationElectrical systems, including computerized induction/ignition systemsUse of power, hand tools, and diagnostic equipmentAcetylene and electric arc weldingOperation of vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposesEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the publicFollow written and verbal instructions, including manufacturer's service specificationsCommunicate effectively verbally and writtenConduct DOT inspections on trucks and trailersQualificationsObtain and/or maintain a Class 'A' Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Experience working on vehicles, heavy duty, preferredExperience working in the agricultural field, a plusMust be willing to submit and pass a Background Check, Drug Screen & MVRVermeer Midwest provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
