The Fermentation Technical Manager is responsible for leading a team in support of probiotic production and research and development activities.The role involves conducting fermentations and collecting data, as well as problem-solving and optimization of fermentation processes.The manager will also be responsible for media optimization, strain screening, and communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Lead a team in conducting fermentations and collecting data for probiotic production and research• Setup and operate fermentation equipment and freeze-dryers• Solve complex problems and design experiments for probiotic research• Optimize fermentation and freeze drying processes for yield, productivity, and product quality• Implement strategies for media optimization and strain screening• Analyze experiment results and prepare reports• Communicate findings and issues to key stakeholders• Ensure safety protocols and best practices are followed• Keep up to date with advancements in fermentation technologies• Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement in fermentation activities
Requirements
• MS or PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Fermentation Sciences, Microbiology, or related fields• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel• 5-7 years of experience in fermentation and freeze drying equipment setup and operation• Proficient in microbiological techniques• Excellent verbal and technical writing communication skills• Ability to lead a team and follow written and verbal direction• Attention to detail and ability to work independently• Experience in bacteria fermentation process development and optimization• Experience managing a technical team
