Farm Hand

Farm Hand The Farm Hand is responsible for maintaining + assisting in the vision of the farm and can complete a wide variety of tasks such tending to the property and general upkeep. 
Job Overview  The Farm Hand will be following directions on key projects and crop planning. The responsibilities include assisting in production and field work preparation. 
The Farm Hand will work with management to assist in all aspects of the farm upkeep such as, irrigation, landscaping, building maintenance, weed control, planting and harvesting. 
Responsibilities and Duties  Help with new crop projects on the property such as lavender fields, flower gardens, pumpkins, sunflowers etc.  Report to core team members as needed Assist on-time harvest and optimal post-harvest handling  Help with farm upkeep and regular maintenance Assist in developing educational curriculum for the the public + school groups Assist in the general clean up of the farm (ie. landscaping, cleaning + organizing)  Qualifications  Ambitious, self-motivated with a passion for food and community Ability to work effectively in collaboration with others Solid organizational skills - attention to detail  An action oriented, entrepreneurial and adaptable personality that excels in a dynamic and innovative environment  A passion for urban agriculture, health and community development Ability to work independently and inspire others while contributing to a team effort *this opposition will be subsidised by the Canada Summer Jobs grant.
