Why you should work with Wayside: Wayside Family Treatment Center maintains the family unit by welcoming women who are pregnant and mothers with children into treatment to prevent separation. We receive services for addiction, parenting, understanding how their alcohol or substance use contributes to Adverse Childhood Experiences, and improving their relationship skills to ultimately break the generational transmission of risk.
What you will do: Provide multi-site and in person services at Family Treatment Center, telehealth services, and in-home including but not limited to family services case management, parent and family case management, individual sessions, educational groups, child and parent assessments, and coordination of care.  Provide child/parent curriculum and case management to children and extended family members as appropriate. Assist clients in setting goals based on their individual and family needs assessments, and in identifying steps to achieve their goals, monitor progress. Identify high-quality community providers and agencies whose services are relevant to client needs. Provide outreach services to engage and connect clients with the community agencies that will help meet their needs and goals. Coordinate scheduling and attend case staffing and appointments with community providers with whom client are involved with. Maintain regular contact with client's network of service  providers. Make appropriate referrals and coordinate care to assist client in obtaining resources and meeting treatment planning goals for client and their family i.e., setting up daycare, school transportation, etc. Provide required education for Statute 245G substance use disorder treatment program, including topics such as Shaken Baby Syndrome, Safe Sleeping, and SIDS. Assist in parenting and family program planning, implementation, and evaluation. Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, including participation in weekly team  meetings. Participate in in-services, workshops, and other continuing education relative to quality client care. Follow all Statute 245G and individual licensing requirements and standards, including, following confidentiality laws and mandated reporting. Schedule: Monday-Friday, daytime hours. Some evening may be required.

A few requirements include: Bachelor's degree in behavioral health including psychology, human services, or related field. 18 years or older Adult and child CPR – training provided if  needed. Experience in parent education and family advocacy Microsoft office/outlook experience Knowledge and/or experience in the field of substance use disorder and/or mental heath Must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements. Must be able to pass a Minnesota DHS background  study. Ability to pass a motor vehicle record check – no DUIs in last 3  years. Reliable transportation Demonstrated ability to work with and relate effectively to clients, children, and staff of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.  Preferred qualifications:
Licensed Social Worker Previous experience and/or understanding of substance use disorder and  recovery. 2,000 hours of supervised experience working with individuals with substance use disorder preferred. Demonstrated experience working effectively with women and children that identify Black, Indigenous or Persons of color is highly preferred . P.S.
