PHARMAVITE Position Summary: Apprentice Program
The Production Apprentice is responsible for continued learning and understanding of assigned functions for their assigned production operations department. This process is accomplished through applying both classroom and hands-on learning, understanding, and adhering to all safety standards, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)(GDP), and customer requirements in conjunction with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Key to this role is learning and developing skills and knowledge acquired in the classroom to take on additional duties and expand capabilities while enhancing personal skills. Responsibilities: Performs all duties in compliance with safety rules, standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices. Learns and performs work tasks associated with the safe operation and maintenance of various types of manufacturing equipment, depending on the specialization of the process of operations and materials used. Applies key learning to monitor equipment parameters (meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls) and guidelines to ensure adherence to the production process and quality specifications Cleans equipment and associated parts including disassembling, steam cleaning, wiping, rinsing, and polishing in compliance with set hygienic standards. Assembles equipment and ancillary parts according to job instructions. Inspects and tests equipment to ensure the product will meet pre-determined specifications. Applies key learning to troubleshoot malfunctions in equipment and performs minor mechanical repairs using small hand tools. Performs preventive maintenance daily including inspecting moving parts, greasing and lubricating as necessary. Maintains a wide variety of routine records including those on tools, dies, service, cleaning, and calibration logs. Applies Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to charge and yield products. Performs simple computer tasks to analyze test results using graphs (SPC data charts). Performs any/all the duties of a Production Operator and other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Requires: Must be enrolled in the FAME or other related Apprentice Programs, successfully progressing and completing an Associate Degree as well as meeting the following expectations outlined below: Must demonstrate sufficient and sustained applied learning in the program in the areas of mechanical skills, troubleshooting problems, and performing routine repairs on complex precision equipment to remain in the apprentice program. Must be able to wear PPE where required, includes ear plugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, hair nets, beard covers, arm sleeves, face masks, full face respirator, aprons, nitrile and rubber gloves, and any other personal protective equipment as needed. At the end of the apprenticeship, must be certified in Basic Rapid Problem Solving and Lean Systems White Belt (WB). Demonstrated mastery in operating, troubleshooting, changeover, and performing minor repairs of equipment. Assists maintenance personnel as required to troubleshoot and maintain equipment. Can demonstrate logical thinking and troubleshooting skills to address simple and complex problems. Must be able to work independently on tasks, as a member of a team taking direction from a person in a leadership role, and must be able to function as a leader for small or large teams as required. Must demonstrate the ability to operate basic hand tools and test equipment safely. Includes standard hand tools and process specific specialized tools. Must know how or be able to learn how to use computers, keyboards and other input devices, hand held scanners, and other electronic equipment. Fluent English, oral, reading, and writing skills to communicate equipment problems with others, read/understand operating manuals, and maintain written maintenance and repair records. Must follow GDP (Good Documentation Practices) when writing on or recording official information in Batch Records, Log books, Master Sanitation Forms, etc. Application of basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division to calculate inventory counts, Work orders, Replenishments of Raw material for production areas and perform transactions using scanners through the DSI system. Physical Requirements: Stands and or walks for the full work shift may perform repetitive job duties during training and rotations depending on assignment. Intermittently lift and or move loads unassisted of up to 40 pounds and over 40 pounds with the use of pallet jacks (manual or powered), two-person lift, or other mechanical aids. Annual Pay Range
$34,030.00 - $51,148.00
This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate's starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.
Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.
Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee's supervisor.
