Position Summary The Department of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is actively recruiting a board certified Dermatopathologist to join our team of talented academic dermatologists. We are a group of dedicated clinicians committed to a shared mission of taking care of all the people of North Carolina, reaching underserved populations and reducing health disparities. We are also teachers dedicated to training future leaders in dermatology through our nationally renowned residency program. We have a proud tradition of supporting innovation and research and have historically ranked among the top ten dermatology programs in the nation in terms of NIH funding.
The Dermatopathology Service, including laboratories, is an integral component of the Department of Dermatology. We provide services to UNC Clinical Departments and clinical practices from the State of North Carolina. Responsibilities include: Signing out routine and consult Dermatopathology cases, dermatology research activities, team-based care with medical and surgical oncology, and education of Dermatology and Pathology residents and medical students. The Department offers a superb academic environment in which to work. 
This position is being recruited as an Open Rank appointment at an FTE between 0.5 FTE and 1.0 FTE . The appointment will be offered as a fixed-term, tenure/tenure track or variable track appointment.
Applicants must have strong dermatopathology skills and a commitment to academic dermatology. You must have proficient competency in teaching and an interest in the training of medical students and residents. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements An MD or DO is required. The successful candidate must be board eligible or board certified in Dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology or the American Board of Pathology and must have graduated from an ACGME -accredited residency in dermatology or pathology at the time of hire. The position requires that the candidate be able to obtain a medical license with the Medical Board of the State of North Carolina and be credentialed to practice medicine with the UNC Health system at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Applicants should have appropriate teaching skills that will enable them to function successfully in providing education and training experiences for residents and medical students in a major academic/healthcare environment.
Special Physical/Mental Requirements Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
