Recreation & Wellbeing (Rec Well) is ready to hire a self-motivated Facility Technician with a passion for working on a variety of tasks in different settings and a wide range of possibilities. We are looking for a mechanically inclined team member and offer on-the-job training for those willing to learn and expand their skill set. Working at Rec Well facilities provides a dynamic work environment where no two days are the same. This entry-level position is a unique opportunity to start a career at a top-tier school and acquire new skills, including basic building repairs, outdoor field maintenance, light mechanical work, and fitness equipment repairs.
Responsibilities: Tasks: Develop strong working relationships with campus partners such as Physical Plant, Risk Management, and EHS. Attend Divisional Staff meetings and trainings. Attend state, regional, and national conferences as approved to keep abreast of current trends and issues. Participate in trade shows and other professional development opportunities presented by the department. Pursue and maintain all necessary certifications related to job responsibilities (American Red Cross Adult CPR/FA/AED). Serve on department, division, or university committees as requested. Qualifications: Facility Technician I Qualifications:
0-3 years of relevant work experience Entry level computer skills required Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to perform lifting regularly up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs. Facility Technician II Qualifications:
3+ years of relative experience Grounds and synthetic turf maintenance experience Fitness equipment repair or mechanical/electrical diagnostics and repair Perform skilled repair and maintenance on facilities related to carpentry, painting, structural, plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilation, HVAC, and/or mechanical systems Entry level computer skills required Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to perform lifting regularly up to 50 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs. Work Schedule: Normal schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary: Minimum $20.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
The starting hourly rate for a Facility Technician I position is $20.00 per hour. Those candidates that meet the qualifications of a Facility Technician II should expect a starting hourly rate higher than $20.00 per hour. Actual pay is negotiable and will depend on experience and qualifications.
