Details of the offer

The primary duties of this position during the spring, summer and early fall involve grass cutting, weed eating, removing weeds and clearing debris and removing vines from fences at all AWB properties including but not limited to the shop, main office, water plants, wells, tanks and booster pump station sites. Assignments may include assisting with the reclamation of work sites by dressing yards and laying sod. During the non-peak season employee will work with a small crew and assist where needed with meter change-outs, repairing or replacing water mains and service lines, flagging traffic, painting well sites, water plants, and pipes or other related duties as assigned. Assignments are reviewed while in progress and upon job completion.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalency required. Ability to speak, read and write English. Must possess a valid driver license with acceptable driving record. Essential Functions: Drives service truck and/or equipment to and from work sites. Assists with meter change-outs and installation, repair and replacement of water mains and service lines. Installs barricades and flags traffic. Assists with minor building maintenance. Must be able to push, pull, lift, kneel, bend, stoop and dig on a regular basis in the performance of duties. Performs other job-related duties as required. Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of industrial equipment used for the purpose of yard maintenance. Skilled in the safe operations and procedures of equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Licenses and Certifications: A valid Alabama driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 30 days. Commercial Driver License (CDL) preferred. As a condition of employment, applicant must reside within 30 minutes of the Alabaster Water Board system or relocate within 6 months of the date of hire. If offered a position, a physical, drug screen, background check, and driver's license check will be required.
