FACILITIES MAINTENANCE MECHANIC
PART-TIME, TEMPORARY - AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY THROUGH 10/5/23
$18.86-$19.57/HOUR SCOPE OF WORK: Performs various routine and general building and equipment maintenance and repairs and assists with facilities and construction projects. This position reports directly to the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor at the White Mountains Community College Littleton Academic Center.
ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assists with various construction projects, including painting projects and carpentry work.Assists facilities staff on facilities maintenance projects as required.Reports safety issues and concerns as observed throughout the campus to supervisor. Complies with all college, system, state and federal rules and regulations including.Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or high school equivalency.
Experience:One year of experience in general building maintenance and/or repair work. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required education. Some training in a building trade desired.
License/Certification:Valid driver's license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with general maintenance and repair of small equipment, machinery and tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires medium work, including continuous strenuous activities such as frequent reaching, bending, or lifting as well as performing work activities which require fine manual dexterity or coordination in operating machines or equipment.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of one or more of the building trades. Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Knowledge of the methods and tools used in maintenance and repair work. Skill in the use of tools and equipment used in the work. Ability to direct the work of subordinate maintenance staff. Ability to understand and carry out instructions. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with immediate associates and the general public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the college appointing authority.
