The Facilities Maint Mechanical Specialist:
Provides technical leadership for all mechanical systems under the control & responsibility of Facility Management & Energy Services - e.g., Hot Water System, Chilled Water System, Potable Water System, Compressed Air System.
This includes all operational aspects & equipment components - e.g., maintenance plans, spare part requirements, proactive maintenance, innovation, continuous improvement for pumps, piping, boilers, gas turbines, chillers, and compressors.
Lead activities required to ensure proper operation of all mechanical equipment/systems in Facility Managmenet & Energy Services.
Supports day-to-day operations as required.
Supports the UVR (Utility Verification Request) process for utilities. Develops innovative solutions to bring continuous improvement to operations.
Plans proactively & strategically to ensure Facility Management & Energy Services is always prepared to meet the production needs of the Plant.
Collaborates effectively with the Section Leaders and Equipment Service Associates to achieve positive results.
Engages with the proper Plant Spartanburg and Woodruff planning circles and Technology maintenance teams to develop effective working relationships.
Provides leadership to ensure equipment performance meets current & future requirements of the Plant.
Assists in creating standards and specifications for new equipment installations.
Proactively supports all aspects of our FM & Energy business as needed to ensure facilities equipment sustainably performs as designed (i.e. PM plans, spare part availability, design improvements).
Develops, optimizes & implements processes that drive FM & Energy Team continuous improvement.
Works effectively with FM & Energy Team (BMW & contractor personnel) to achieve premium results for our internal customers.
Leads SAP planning for all mechanical related maintenance activities. Leads the planning, funding preparation and purchasing process of equipment, installation and spare parts for mechanical related activities (budget & investment accountability).
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

BA/BS degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
5+ years of professional experience in a relevant mechanical, equipment, or facilities function in a manufacturing environment.
Valid driver s license.
5+ years of knowledge in communicating ideas in both technical and user friendly language.
5+ years of professional communication skills (written, verbal, and communication).
5+ of problem solving and analytical skills.
5+ years of MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Access).
3+ years of database systems knowledge, SAP Preventative Maintenance (preferred).
