Mark Andy is looking for a Fabricator to join our team! Applicant must be able to perform basic requirements of a manual machine, including manual mills and lathes. This would include reading and understanding blueprints and familiar with MIG/MAW and TIG/GTAW welding processes.
Duties/Responsibilities Sets up and operates manual machines such as manual mills and manual lathes. Machines or fabricates parts to specifications using machine tools (lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinders and welder.) Fabricates prototype parts from the raw material stage through the finished product using blueprints, sketches, and manual machine tools. Works from written or oral instructions to meet schedules in compliance with job and quality standards. Works closely with engineering to review part requirements and discuss possible design changes. Fabricates new fixtures and modifies and/or reworks existing fixtures. Collaborates with shop employees, leads and engineering to facilitate fixture fabrication and review fixture design; Discusses potential design changes and helps to determine the method of fabrication. Re-machine existing parts to engineering changes. Performs skilled fitting and assembly parts by welding, riveting, bolting, sawing and grinding. Estimates required time for fabricating prototype parts and fixtures. Works with engineering to prioritize tasks and schedule work. Provides technical assistance to management and other departments, as needed. Orders special tooling and fixture supplies, as needed. Sharpens and/or modifies standard tools for use with specific parts and applications. Inspects modified parts, including parts fabricated with calipers, micrometers, thread and plug gauges, surface plates, and height gauges. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all safety procedures, rules and regulations. performs other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Must possess basic knowledge of manual machines, including manual mills and lathes Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specification and weld symbols. Familiar with MIG/GMAW and TIG/GTAW welding processes. Ability to assemble equipment, including the use of basic hand tools. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. Education/Experience Required High School Degree or Equivalent Minimum of 6 months of related industrial/mechanical experience Physical Demands Regularly required to sit, lay, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and move about manufacturing plant. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work typically requires the use of PPE.
