Job summary
The Extension Associate will develop, organize, and conduct educational workshops for students and teachers.They will assist in developing and maintaining educational facilities.They will support existing Research and Cooperative Extension programming and collaborate with program staff.

Responsibilities
• Serve as primary contact for Environmental Education Programs for students and educators.• Provides hands-on demonstration opportunities for students with state-of-the-art equipment.• Maintain an ADA-compliant braille trail at the Environmental Education and Research Center.• Create professional development opportunities for teachers in agriculture and environmental science.• Inform students of educational opportunities in the College of Agriculture, Communities, and the Environment at KSU.• Interact with visitors and staff, answering questions and providing assistance.• Travel to schools, project sites, and meetings statewide as needed.
Requirements
• Master of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Biology, or a related discipline.• One to three years of experience in environmental education or related fields.• Must have or be willing to acquire KAEE Membership and Environmental Education Facilitator Certifications.• Knowledge in the field of environmental education.• Prior experience teaching K-12 students.• Ability to lead groups over rough terrain.• Demonstrated ability to promote and respect diversity.• Ability to use a personal computer and related software applications.• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
