Job Summary The RNC HVAC Installer is responsible for installing HVAC equipment and the required accessories in new homes, in a timely manner to maintain builder schedule. The installations must meet rigorous quality standards and pass mechanical code requirements.
Job Function: The various tasks, duties and responsibilities commonly carried out by HVAC installers are highlighted below:
Perform installation of HVAC related equipment following company policies and manufacturer's specifications. Read and interpret HVAC drawings and blueprints. Carry out wiring of both low and line voltage to heating and cooling equipment. Perform installation of copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including brazing and soldering. Be able to utilize proper hand tools and power tools and make proper judgement calls in determining where and what building materials to modify or cut. Perform installation of flex and sheet metal duct systems in residential buildings. Install gas piping and ensure proper "leak free" connections are completed. Determine the right material needed for installation work by pre-measuring jobs Receive all materials and equipment required for each job, confirming proper materials have been delivered. Start-up equipment and make necessary adjustments for long equipment life and efficient operation. Provide necessary support to other team members to be able to complete tasks on time as instructed by management. Create and maintain cordial and collaborative working relationships with superiors, co-workers, other tradesmen and builders. Ensure all paperwork needed for each day is accurately filled out. Must not be objectionable to working in harsh conditions (cold, heat, rain, etc). Ability to work weekends and overtime on occasion. Physically fit with the ability to climb, stoop, balance, crouch, crawl, and kneel continually. Minimum of 1 year experience working independently
