This role will lead the Bioprocess, Cell Therapy and Packaging Direct Materials Category teams, Direct Materials Supplier Management teams and GPS Site Operations Procurement teams comprising 5 directs reports and 80 team members. The role covers the span of approximately $500MM of spend and site operations across 16 GPs sites. The role is leading a team of Provide "service excellence" to the GPS business partners through establishing effective site and supplier relationships, partnerships, strategies, processes, systems and staff. Drive Procurement initiatives as an active member of the Strategic Sourcing & Procurement (SS&P) Extended Leadership Team and the GPS SS&P LT. Develop, maintain and implement a 3–5-year strategic plan for responsible categories and ensure all projects supporting the strategic plan and driving value capture deliver maximum value. Understand the product lifecycle process, impact on the organization (both short and long term) and knowledge of the global value chain to provide strategic industry insights and identify potential opportunities that may shorten/improve the product lifecycle and ultimately lead to a BMS competitive advantage. Manage Direct Materials Supplier Relationship Management processes, procedures, supplier, and category segmentation, metrics/KPI development and application, scorecard format, contract management, etc. and partner with Supplier Quality Management processes. This position will facilitate continuous improvement and idea innovation that will enable the Business Partner, Category and Functional Leads to achieve strategic objectives. Additionally, this role is also responsible for overseeing the internal manufacturing site resources in close collaboration with the Global Product Supply & Manufacturing organization.Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities:Lead GPS SS&P Direct Materials (BioProcessing, Cell Therapy, Packaging) Global Procurement Business Partner & Category, Direct Materials Supplier Management and GPs Site Operations Procurement withapproximately 80 resources spanning across various regional/local markets and 16 manufacturing sitesSpan of control is 5 direct reports and 80 FTEs. Categories spend management approximately $500M, Supplier Management scope ~200 suppliers, and 16 site operations.Understand market nuances to effectively develop, implement and drive the global, regional, and local services strategy, policies, and processes.Establish clear roles and responsibilities between regional / local resources and global category leads to ensure "one-face" to the business.Encourage cross-market and cross-functional collaboration to take advantage of synergies through effective business partnering and stakeholder management.Develop and manage key senior business relationshipswith functional business partners:Ensure SS&P business partners are receiving exception service from the Procurement operations.Develop collaborative relationships with business partners in order to leverage knowledge, spend and procurement effectiveness.Be an engaged leader on the SS&P extended leadership team and an engaged empowered leader on the GPS SS&P leadership team; providing business expertise and strategic leadership.Represent GPS SS&P on 1 or more of the GPS L-1 leadership teams.Champion Procurement training programs to better support business needsDrive co-ownership of initiatives and accountability based on agreed upon strategies.Develop and implement metrics and reporting mechanisms.Ensure excellence in delivery of procurement initiativesthat maximize corporate, business, and functional priorities and objectives:Ensure compliance to preferred supplier programs.Identify, build, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships, partnerships, and alliances with select suppliers through Supplier Relationship Development programs.Oversee development and own supply plan for group of categories managed.Drive planned cost savings in group based on category management strategies, compliance plans and innovation development, exceeding company value capture targets.Ensure key agreements and contracts are reviewed to protect and advance the company's interest.Ensure and influence ongoing talent development of the GPS SS&P team.Establish/communicate criteria for evaluating staff performance.Manage head count and direct the implementation of work processes and practices to optimize staff engagement and effectiveness plus meeting SS&P budget targets.Partner with SS&P functional Leadership to build and deliver processes, training, procurement technology and knowledge management tools.Collaborate with site / local procurement and manufacturing resources on solutions and standardization of business processes across the manufacturing sitesOwn and drive mitigation projects on a prioritized basisBuild and continuously improve the business partner and category's procurement capability.Ensure all escalated issues with respect to quality, performance or supply are promptly resolved.Direct all initiatives and strategic decisions for the group,including all budgetary matters and management of resources.Internal/External Stakeholders:SS&P LT / xLTGPS LT & OpU LTs and other key GPS leadersSupplier community executive managementSenior members of industry; technology councils and organizationsQualifications:Minimum Requirements:B.S./B.A.Minimum of 12-15 years of business experienceMinimum of 10-12 years of multi-disciplined procurement experienceMinimum of 7 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experienceExperience leading and participating on cross-functional and/or global teams.Managerial experience including managing teams of senior professional and managers and establishing performance expectationsInternal stakeholder management, data/information management, category management, process redesign and continuous improvement expertise, project management and performance measurement skillsProcurement process knowledge, contract management, financial analysis, market analysis, supplier analysis, supplier diversity, supplier management, technology utilization, strategic planning and integrated supply chain experiencePreferred Qualifications:M.S./M.B.A.Professional certifications (e.g. CPM, CPIM).10-12 years Pharmaceutical Procurement experienceMembership in Professional Associations, e.g. ISMIf you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn't perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
