Responsibilities
• Lead global accounting responsibilities, including monthly closing activities, of the controllership team (100+)• Provide strategic direction and decision-making support to set and achieve objectives• Oversee a team of senior leaders globally responsible for accounting and compliance activities• Make strategic, timely decisions and take intelligent risks designed to grow the business, based on financial analyses and data-driven insight• Partner with other PPD leaders to drive optimization in processes and systems, including Oracle Fusion• Ensure compliance with accounting, internal controls, and other regulatory standards• Communicate effectively, prioritize deliverables, and drive consistency across regions and business units• Interview and select top talent and develop teams' capabilities, knowledge, and business acumen• Focus on outcomes and impact, setting high performance standards and holding others accountable• Empower colleagues through transparency and create an engaging environment• Build relationships, collaborate, resolve conflicts, and achieve results• Develop and manage interpersonal relationships to influence decisions of senior leaders• Drive continuous improvement and practical innovation
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification• Previous financial experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 15+ years' experience)• 10+ years in a management level role• CPA, or equivalent required• Experience with a large global organization and ERP preferred• Exceptional skills in accounting• Excellent research, reporting, and analytical skills• Strategic thinking, planning, and organization skills• Ability to analyze data, anticipate and mitigate risk, exercise sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making working under pressure and at times with limited desired information• Ability to use personal influence and persuasion to effectively promote ideas and proposals to shape stakeholder opinions• Effective negotiation and critical thinking skills• Concise, well-organized oral and written communication skills• Ability to motivate managers and supervisors to define and reach team objectives
