EXCAVATION FOREMAN Layton Services is a commercial, industrial and residential excavation contractor that has been family-owned and operated in Central Ohio for 30 years. Our services primarily include earthwork, site development (mass excavation, building pads, sub-grade prep) and underground utilities (water main, fire line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and detention systems.) Our office is in Newark, Ohio with a majority of our work in Columbus, Ohio, Licking County and surrounding area.
* Typical range is $35/HR- $45/HR. * Summary of Role: Supervises and coordinates daily job site operations including: safety, production, job costs, labor, some operating and all other duties as assigned. This person must be self-motivated, committed to safety, possess excellent leadership skills, and be able to immediately lead an excavation crew to success!
Job Duties & Responsibilities: Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish. Call-in inspections through the correct departments for your job location. Read/ understand civil plans and cut sheets. Coordinate job-site materials and trucking as needed. Provide quality leadership and equal opportunities for crew members to learn + further develop skills. Enforce job-site safety. Consult w/ Superintendents regarding crew members when necessary. Report all OSHA/ Company Violations to Superintendents immediately. Stay ahead of schedules + budgets provided. Always maintain a positive + productive job site. Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/ or equivalent. 3+ years of industry related work experience (construction/ sitework) . Trenching + Excavating Certification ( can obtain once hired). 30 Hour OSHA Certification ( can obtain once hired). Basic computer knowledge (including email + construction software to manage employee time, job costs + resources). HeavyJob Construction Software experience preferred.
