Full job description Summary of Position The Student Affairs Division at Red Rocks Community College is seeking applications for a dynamic and precise Incoming Transcript Evaluator to join our team. The successful candidate will research, analyze, and evaluate incoming transcripts and other academic records for equivalency and course transfer credit using independent judgment and the application of complex and specialized academic rules and regulations; validate courses, units, and grades.
Essential Responsibilities Determines validity and transferability of classes. Makes transfer credit decisions. Enters all eligible courses into Banner, and tracks PLA credit. Develops, implements, and maintains appropriate office procedures to guarantee efficiency and accuracy. Coordinates with Academic Affairs and accurately maintains all articulation agreements of credits between the college and other educational agencies. Translates college and CCCS policies/procedures, articulation agreements, CDHE guidelines, and military guidelines. Provides information and guidance regarding incoming transfer credit. Conducts research and uses judgment to resolve Student Record issues. Coordinates and maintains the document retention activities according to requirements established by Colorado and CCCS guidelines with other staff members in Student Records. Creates processes and procedures to accurately, quickly, and effectively scan and index transcripts.
Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Education Substitution: A combination of education and relevant directly related technical/professional work experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. (For example: records processing, accounting, assessment, office experience etc.)


Preferred Qualifications : Membership in or experience working in diverse communities and supporting the success of individuals from racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds that are underrepresented.



Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to work from campus (primarily our Lakewood campus with occasional hours at the Arvada campus). Ability to be thorough, consistent, and accurate in the interpretation of records against criteria. Ability to maintain resources which document and update criteria. Ability to make accurate records. Ability to organize work to meet deadlines. Ability to safeguard the confidentiality and security of records.



Physical and Cognitive Demands: The following are some of the physical and cognitive demands commonly associated with this position:

Constantly uses a computer and routinely uses standard office equipment including phones, copiers, etc. to enter, retrieve and manipulate data. Cognitive demands include comparing, copying, computing, compiling, analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills. The person in this position consistently communicates with internal and external community members and students. Must be able to give and receive information accurately and present information to individuals. The person in this position constantly interprets, analyzes, and researches eligibility. Must be able to comprehend and interpret complex regulations or requirements and to apply them in the evaluation process. Department Information: The Student Records department is responsible to provide effective coordination, processing and maintenance of many student processes and procedures. This unit processes transcripts, grades, transcript evaluations, prerequisite overrides, the College Opportunity Fund processing, No Show reporting, demographic changes to name and social security numbers, correcting duplicate student accounts, residency classification for tuition purposes, coordinates the graduation process and prints diplomas. This department is a source for FERPA guidelines and processing legal requests for student information. This department is responsible for data corrections and state reporting, along with reporting to the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) and The National Student Clearinghouse. This unit is expected to provide excellent customer service to students and staff within the boundaries of federal, state, and institutional policies and procedures.



Work Environment and Typical Work Schedule: Work is generally performed in an office environment. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. May require hours outside of regular office hours, and occasional weekend hours. This position is eligible for an alternate work arrangement. (After the Associate Registrar approves an alternate work arrangement, this position is eligible for one remote day a week.)


Works directly with students with transcript and Student Records related questions. Interacts with Student Affairs staff members and Academic Affairs faculty and administration.

Starting Salary: Starting salary is determined by education and experience in accordance with our compensation plan.
