SummaryDrives gasoline or diesel powered equipment to move materials, tow trailers, pull out objects imbedded in ground, dig up ground or pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform pre-use, monthly, quarterly and/or annual inspections for the equipment in which he/she will operate Fastens attachments, such as graders, plows, and rollers, to tractor with hitch pins. Releases brake, shifts gears, and depresses accelerator or moves throttle to control forward and backward movement of tractor. Steers heavy equipment by turning steering wheel and depressing brake pedals. Move Connex containers, pallets of material & loose material with forks on equipment. Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor. Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities. QualificationsMinimum RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent or ten (10) years Heavy Equipment Operator experience will be considered. Minimum five (5) years directly related experience. Previous backhoe, zoom boom, skid steer, excavator, and Loader experience. Hyster experience is preferred but not required. Driver's License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy.
