LRS Federal is currently hiring an experienced environmental scientist or planner to support environmental planning and compliance projects supporting federal agencies. Projects will vary in size, complexity, and client. We are seeking a self-starter with a strong desire to excel and be part of a growing organization.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in one of listed disciplines with 2-6 years of relevant work experience with an emphasis on environmental planning, compliance, and/or energy management. Projects may include permitting, environmental planning, sustainability, compliance, water resources, and technical support. The Environmental Planner / Scientist will assist with reviewing and preparing technical studies and perform research, conduct environmental analyses (field and desktop) and assist in the preparation of technical documents including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation. The selected candidate will report to the Severna Park, MD office. Occasional travel to project sites will be required.

Projects will further involve regulatory agency coordination, client interaction, and exposure to multiple environmental disciplines. Candidates will be expected to take initiative, work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, be an excellent collaborator, and represent LRS Federal professionally.

Specific job duties will include:
schedule, conduct, and manage detailed phases of assigned projects.
decisions independently on problems and methods to resolve important questions and to plan and coordinate work.
technical expertise in environmental science to include, but not limited to: NEPA, RCRA, CERCLA, CAA, CWA, sustainability, and/or energy management requirements.
of technical reports documenting analysis and findings for review by senior scientist/engineer.
data and prepare recommendations, summaries, and cost estimates for consideration by senior managers.

The ideal candidate will report to our Severna Park, MD headquarters office, however, remote and hybrid options will be considered.

Minimum Education Requirements:
Four-year degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience Requirements:
years of experience and technical background in environmental science.
experience with federal government projects preferred.
oral communication and writing skills are necessary.
in Microsoft Office Suite.
skills and experience preferred.
have a good driving record and valid driver's license.
