A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AUDITOR As our Environmental Regulatory Compliance Auditor, you're tasked with the critical role of ensuring that all our operations comply with relevant environmental regulations. Not only do you protect our company, but you also guarantee that our infrastructure projects are safe and sustainable for years to come, enabling the public to rely on our work. With your extensive knowledge of state and federal permits, you conduct thorough inspections of erosion and sediment control devices, verify limits of disturbance, and work closely with client environmental management personnel to ensure all necessary measures are taken.
In addition to your technical expertise, you put to use your exceptional written and verbal communication skills in preparing daily reports to keep our project teams informed of all compliance considerations. You're also responsible for preparing environmental permit applications, which involve field delineation, impact assessment, and coordination with relevant regulatory agencies. Your ultimate satisfaction comes from knowing that you're helping to keep our company on track while contributing to public safety and sustainability in our region.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY COMPLIANCE AUDITOR Bachelor's degree in engineering, natural resources, environmental studies, or a related field 2+ years of relevant experience Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions Knowledge and practical experience with the following are preferred, but not required :
Project team coordination Construction methods and practices Experience conducting plan reviews and reading construction specifications Hazardous Materials Highway Safety Field experience in assessing natural resources Field experience on construction projects Environmental regulations, permitting, and agencies' roles C-107 Construction Runoff Control Inspection Form (C-107) Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Erosion & Sediment Control Contractors Certification (ESCCC) in addition to other VDOT-specific certifications would be a plus.
