This position may work closely with the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations ( OCED ) which is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $27B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions.
Job Responsibilities: + Conduct independent engineering / due diligence technical advisory reviews of the environmental systems (e.g., pollution control technologies) of clean energy technologies and projects
+ Able to evaluate the expected or actual functionality and performance of pollution control and monitoring systems of projects
+ Identify key gaps / needs as it relates to the functionality and performance of pollution control and monitoring systems of projects
+ Identify project risks and risks mitigants of environmental systems and technologies of projects
+ Articulate recommendations for improvement (when necessary)
+ Work in teams and independently to provide engineering expertise on various pollution control and monitoring systems technologies
+ Draft independent engineering / due diligence reports on evaluated systems
+ Able to draft a data table and risk table (as part of an independent engineering / due diligence report or otherwise)
+ Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication – communicating succinctly and clearly
+ Liaise with a variety of stakeholders when providing engineering expertise (e.g., clients, technology providers, other engineering disciplines.)
Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or mechanical engineering
