Job Description:Summary:The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams, providing computer-aided drafting expertise. Typical duties consist of working with engineers and designers to create, update, and revise drawings on complex projects in the fields of power generation, oil and gas, renewable energy, and more. Additional responsibilities may include construction observation, 3D scanning, and processing. The work may involve out-of-town assignments.Minimum Qualifications:Two-year technical certificate or experience/coursework directly related to the job responsibilities described above0-5 years of experience with design/CAD experience related to industrial facilitiesStrong technical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail, accuracy, and completenessStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clientsAbility and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members in a high-energy working environment that encourages self-initiativeA flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needsLegal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the futurePossession of a valid driver's license and acceptable driving recordPreferred Qualifications:Experience in the consulting industryProficiency with MicroStation, Cadworx, or 3D piping softwareFamiliarity with additional drafting packages such as AutoCAD and NavisworksFamiliarity with work in an industrial environment and basic knowledge of various industrial disciplines and industrial constructionKnowledge and interest developing drawings of mechanical and electrical systemsA hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Ann Arbor , Michigan, office.NOTE: Some work locations may feature rough terrain typical of construction sites and may also require entering and working in facilities that include limited accessibility, moving machinery, and other conditions typical of industrial facilities.
