Introduction to Blue Oval City
Ford is investing $5.6 billion to build its state-of-the art manufacturing facilities at Blue Oval City in West Tennessee. The Tennessee Electric Vehicle Center (TEVC) will produce the next generation electric trucks, with production beginning in 2025. On 3,600 acres, we are building our first mega campus in more than a generation – and it's electric. This brand-new facility will use Ford's 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and will be among the largest automotive manufacturing campus in U.S. history. Like the iconic Rouge complex in Michigan, done a century earlier, Blue Oval City will usher in a new era for American manufacturing and will harness Ford's global manufacturing expertise and innovative technologies. Responsibilities What you'll do… Ensure plant floor fastening equipment is maintained and documented in refence Calibration Accuracy Verification of DC Fastening Equipment standards. Develop and adjust, using process data, the fastening strategies based on the ME fastening template. Troubleshoot and react to fastening rejects. Address FTT issues. Assist with repair and test of fastening equipment. Optimize fastening programs for cycle time. Investigate fastening related warranty issues. Lead long-term reduction of socket cost per engine. Support Manufacturing Process Engineering activity. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity. Apply engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products related to Fastening. Support ISO 14001 (QS 9000) compliance and support internal ISO auditing and compliance as required. Support continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity. Identify throughput constraints and drive root cause improvements. Administer and/or coordinate the training of department employees with respect to fastening systems and equipment. Qualifications You'll have… Bachelor's degree Experience in a manufacturing continuous improvement role. Strong data analysis capabilities. AutoCAD, or similar CAD, experience. Ability to read prints, AutoCAD, interpret and modify electrical schematic. Demonstrated understanding of assembly processes. Understanding of bolted connections and sources of variation, and the relationship between torque, clamp load, and friction. Familiar with basic troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment issues. Understanding of typical controls logic. Machine/Fastening troubleshooting. Effective oral and written communication skills. Lean Manufacturing experience. Formal corrective action and problem-solving skills. DMAIC Project Methodology experience.
