Responsibilities
• Establish goals and objectives for the engineering group and organization• Ensure the development, implementation and evaluation of plant specific performance monitoring• Compile necessary data, investigate viable alternatives and make economic evaluations• Implement and maintain a tracking system for plant issues• Utilize tools and analysis techniques to identify developing equipment issues• Evaluate equipment failures and assist with Root Cause Analysis• Maintain and update plant drawing files and files on equipment• Direct and control engineering expenditures• Provide necessary technical support in the preparation of bid specifications• Assure IT Administration through which repairs, modifications and software changes are completed
Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or equivalent, plus a minimum of ten (10) years relevant power plant-related experience• Thorough understanding of power plant operations• Working knowledge of computer and control systems• Knowledge of chemistry as related to power plant operations and water treatment programs• Ability to plan, coordinate and direct varied programs• At least 5 years' experience supervising technical, supervisory and administrative personnel• Strong leadership and motivational skills• Professional Engineering license in the state of Texas, not required, but strongly encouraged• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
