What you'll doBecome part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:Develop and implement weight management strategies to optimize vehicle performance, efficiency, and safety.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish weight targets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Conduct weight distribution analyses and simulations to identify opportunities for weight reduction.Evaluate and select materials and components to achieve weight reduction goals without compromising performance or safety.Develop and maintain weight management guidelines and best practices.Lead and support design reviews to ensure weight management considerations are integrated into the vehicle design.Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. Here's what else you'll bring: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on whole vehicle weight management.Proficiency in weight distribution analysis and simulation tools (e.g., CATIA, Siemens NX).Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics, structural design, and materials science.Ability to lead work teams, with a focused plan, to provide feasible weight save solutions to upper management for decision.Experience with regulatory requirements related to vehicle weight and safety (e.g., FMVSS, ECE).Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.What you'll gainThe benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up. This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at itsfoundation. In addition, Scoutprovidescompetitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing.
