Our program includes intensive classroom training taught by internal and industry experts, site visits with hands-on substation safety & equipment training, and very importantly, FE prep exam training. We want you to become amazing engineers who can make a direct impact on our clients and realize your career goals.
The 2024 Engineering Boot Camp, powered by Qualus University, will be starting on July 8, 2024 . As a program participant, you will receive an offer to be a full-time employee with Qualus.
Program participants will be required to travel as part of the training. Full-time roles are available for the following locations:
Chattanooga, TN – Relay Settings Engineer Chattanooga, TN – Substation Design Engineer Trussville, AL – Protection & Control Engineer Trussville, AL – Power Systems Engineer Westborough, MA – Protection & Control Engineer Westborough, MA – Power Systems Engineer Fort Worth, TX – Protection & Control Engineer Raleigh, NC – Protection & Control Engineer Raleigh, NC – Substation Design Engineer Lake Mary, FL – Protection & Control Engineer El Dorado, KS – Substation Design Engineer Reno, NV – Protection & Control Engineer Salt Lake City, UT - Protection & Control Engineer Louisville, KY – Power Systems Engineer Power your future with Qualus as a Protection & Control Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of utility substation Protection & Control (P&C) engineering design packages that include drawings such as one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, AC/DC Elementary diagrams, circuit schedules, logic diagrams, operating diagrams, and more.
Working on project teams supporting all quality and project management goals. Meeting all project deadlines and supporting the processes and procedures to meet deadlines. Maintaining up-to-date technical skills related to the design of electrical substations and protection and control schematics for the electric utility power grid through on-the-job work and formal training. Applying test procedures for various types of relay test equipment. Substation awareness and Safety consciousness. Aptitude to quickly learn and apply test procedures for various types of substation equipment. Good PC skills and the ability to support testing activities as required by the project lead. Develop drawings and assist in the preparation of design packages using CAD/drafting skills. Preparing additional support documentation as needed to assist procurement, construction , and operation/maintenance of systems being designed. Consistently following established design standards and CAD drafting standards while assuring quality, accuracy, and completeness. Identifying process improvement ideas and commuting ideas through appropriate management channels. BS Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school (Structural or Civil Engineering degrees accepted). Educational experience directly related to working with [medium to high voltage] electricity. Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Microsoft Office product application. Knowledge of test equipment and tool/wiring usage. Interpretation of wiring and elementary diagrams; basic test skills to perform duties listed above, basic PC skills.
