Job SummaryUnder the direction of the CSULB Energy and Utilities Manager, this position independently reports, analyzes, and makes recommendations on energy and utility operations including providing budget/revenue projections, department charge back billing coordination, generating reports and other activities.Key ResponsibilitiesUtility Operations: Monitor, analyze, and generate reports on utility operations.Metering Support: Validate utility meter data, analyze consumption, and make recommendation.Energy Program Support: Coordinate and provide access to contractors/consultants, edit/maintain as built documentation, generate reports on energy project costs.Knowledge Skills and AbilitiesAbility to work in a team environment, interacting and communicating effectively, dependably, tactfully, and diplomatically. Ability to work independently under general supervision. Ability to work well under pressure of deadlines and deal with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines.Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."Education and ExperienceRequired:Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of related experience required.Preferred:A bachelor's degree in a related field (Accounting) or equivalent.Strong computer skills including word processing, email, calendaring, presentation, and thorough knowledge of spreadsheets; ability to create, troubleshoot, and modify advanced equations, charts, and graphs.Strong math skills and ability to perform accurate computations. Physical SummarySedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).Licenses / CertificatesValid California driver's licenseEmployees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on university business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.DepartmentUniversity Wide UtilitiesClassificationAdministrative Analyst/Specialist NonexemptCompensationSalary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.CSU Classification Salary Range:The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,694 - $7,131 per month.BenefitsExcellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.Time Base1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.Duration of AppointmentThis is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted.
