About Us: UofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health – Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital – UofL Health – South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of a licensed healthcare practitioner, will assist during GI procedures. Provides support for the GI team with room set up, tear down, scope reprocessing, sterilizing and packaging instruments, maintaining inventory, specimen collection, and assisting doctors and nursing staff as directed. Will provide direct patient care during and after procedures. Will maintain sterile field as applicable. Will float out and assist with patient care in preop and PACU areas as needed.
Required Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent (GED) Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA). Preferred Qualifications: 1 year experience working in operating room or endoscopy suite. 1 year experience in cleaning, packaging, and processing of sterile supplies. #LI-DNI
