Employment Specialist

Job summary
The Employment Specialist is responsible for expanding employer partners and providing employment opportunities for refugee clients.This includes prospecting for job leads, meeting with employers, and selling refugee clients as solutions to employer needs.The position also involves assessing and counseling clients, creating employment plans, and referring clients to training programs.

Responsibilities
• Research and identify new industries and employers offering employment opportunities for refugees.• Complete employment orientation and career planning for adult refugees.• Maintain contact with employers through various methods.• Assess refugee skills for jobs and negotiate with employers.• Document all employer contacts and maintain client records.• Assist community members with job readiness activities.• Conduct post-placement follow up with employers.• Coordinate childcare referrals and provide support for employed clients.• Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
• Sales, marketing, or employment placement background preferred.• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Negotiation and conflict management skills.• Excellent time management skills.• Ability to read and interpret business and technical documents.• Functional fluency in one or more foreign languages preferred.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.• Must have a driver's license and access to own transportation.• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
