We are committed to a safe work environment sending every person home safe and healthy every day and leaving a sustainable legacy on our host communities.Responsibilities:Lead group in safety inspections, safety interactions, fatality risk management, and other safety initiativesLead annual life of mine business planning activities including all aspects of mine design, scheduling and costing for the surface operationsApply sound engineering principles to create mine designs for surface miningWork with regional strategic planning to create and implement optimized mine plans and produce annual reserves and resources reportingHelp develop exploration targets as well as life of mine reclamation plansResearch and evaluate equipment, designs, procedures and process to optimize ore extraction and profitabilityProvide capital expenditure estimates including annual and long term equipment plansAnalyze monthly site operations control reports, compiling expenditures, accruals and forecast and taking appropriate actionCooperate, communicate and work effectively with team members from across the site to achieve goals and overcome challengesInform associates and supervisors of plans, opportunities and pitfalls associated with engineering designs and schedulesClearly communicate verbally and in writing to minimize misunderstandingsMentor engineering staff through effective coachingParticipate in detailed succession planning for growth and development of employeesEnsure complete compliance with all company and industry regulationsBe familiar with current software including Vulcan, Deswik, Xeras, Minestar/Terrain and MineMax Other duties as assignedQualifications:Minimum requirement: B.S. degree in Engineering and a minimum of 10 years experience in a specialty area are necessary, including supervising an engineering area or project management.Advanced level technical communications, personal interaction and presentations skills required.At least 5 years of the 10 years at a medium operating mine site.Proven leadership and strong negotiation skills.What We Can Offer YouA comprehensive compensation package including a competitive medical, dental, and vision plan with national provider networks, a 401k retirement plan with employer contribution AND employer match, paid time off, company-sponsored medical clinics, company match share purchase program, and much more!Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team.Endless opportunities to grow and learn with industry colleagues.Access to a variety of career opportunities across the organization.Nevada Gold Mines is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
