Full job description JOB DESCRIPTION: 6TH GRADE ELEMENTARY TEACHER
Nucla Elementary School is seeking a vibrant candidate with strong, effective instructional strategies to join our dynamic team and serve as our 6th grade teacher. This teacher will demonstrate knowledge of the Colorado Academic Standards and instruct 6th grade students in the content standards of English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. This teacher will have the opportunity to work in a brand new, state-of-the-art school with an amazing group of individuals who work collaboratively to prepare our students for their future.
TITLE: 6TH GRADE ELEMENTARY TEACHER
· This position is full time beginning August 2024 and continuing through May of 2025 with the possibility of extending the contract through the 25-26 school year

· Alternative Teacher License Candidates encouraged to apply QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor's or higher degree from a regionally accredited college/university
· Demonstration of content-area knowledge (either by degree or Praxis exam)
· Hold, or be able to obtain, a Colorado Teachers' License from the Colorado Dept. of Education; ATL candidates encouraged to apply
· Experience with Restorative Practice a plus, but not required
· Must pass a general background check (BCI/CBI)
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: · Demonstrate knowledge of Colorado Academic Standards and assessments through lesson planning and data collection
· Experience with Eureka Math, EL Language Arts, and Orton Gillingham a plus, but not required
· Differentiate students groups based on student abilities and/or interests
· Ability to build positive relationships with students & families
· Utilize data driven instruction
· Apply effective teaching strategies and appropriate classroom management skills
· Assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports when required
· Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff
· Open to feedback and instructional coaching
