We're looking for a full-time, staff Electrical Engineer 4 to join our Day & Zimmermann team Located in either Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, Marietta OH, Glen Allen, VA, Lexington, KY, Huntsville, AL, Virginia Beach, VA, Chantilly, VA, or Philadelphia, PA | Hybrid : in the office three days a week. Open to 100% Remote. As the Electrical Engineer here's the work you'll do:
Under administrative direction, an Engineer IV is expected to function in a discipline leadership role on projects. Able to apply advanced engineering techniques and analysis. In addition to technical leadership, the position could require the individual provide discipline administrative and supervisory functions on the assigned project, including the development of discipline scope document, engineering budget, schedule and associated staffing plans and management of assigned staff. Stamps required project documents as a PE, when responsible for work Monitor and ensure design work and documents are correct, consistent with applicable codes, logically presented and constructible Coordination of design efforts with other disciplines and client personnel This role is for you if you have these skills: Experience in the development of the design basis for Capital Project Cost Estimates Proficient in the use of electrical system modeling software such as SKM and/or ETAP to perform power system studies (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, etc.) Ability to provide technical guidance for the pertinent portions of the assigned projects Experienced in effective project execution and project procedures. Ability to supervise and lead the completion of projects (ability to effectively manage project discipline schedule and budget) Able to develop and monitor project scopes for applicable discipline. Identifies changes in scope, and their impact, as they occur Well versed in industrial design practices for medium and low voltage electrical distribution including, but not limited to, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, power distribution, heat tracing and electrical area classification. Experience applying industry codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NEMA, NFPA). Very knowledgeable of electrical design practices for Class I and II areas (classified for gas and dust) Strong organizational skills and effective verbal/written communication skills for execution of multiple projects And if you have these qualifications: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering required; Degree must be ABET-accredited, or acceptable to the State Board of Engineers for licensure as a professional engineer 12 years of relevant experience Professional Engineer registration (strongly preferred), with ability to obtain PE registration in other states via exam or comity US Citizen Great attitude and team player Successful completion of background screening process In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $110,480 - $165,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements).
