Applying knowledge of engineering principles to design products including involvement in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of material handling system components . The material handling systems include power & free conveyors (P&F), skid conveyors, electrified monorail systems (EMS), friction drive systems (FDS), skillet conveyors, slat chain conveyors, vertical drop lifts (VDLs), automatic storage/retrieval systems (ASRS), fork/robot transfers, automatic guided carts (AGCs).  
E ngineering assignments related to electrical control system detailing using a CAD system Wiring d iagrams, c ontrol p anels, and e lect rical d evice l ayouts   PLC p rogramming for m aterial handling systems   HMI designing for m aterial handling systems   Perform calculations related to c ontrol p anel design including power distribution   Perform calculations related to validating cycle time and safe distance calculations   Assist in commissioning PLC logic and H MI screens in shop trials and field environment   Assist in debugging field wiring issues with electricians   Must be able to climb ladders and scaffoldings and be physically capable of sitting, standing and/or walking for long periods of time   Communicate with customers, vendors and departments as needed   Perform other tasks as assigned   Qualifications Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D software is required , AutoCAD 3D software or similar is a plus   Knowledge of i ndustrial control systems   Experience with PLC programming (ControlLogix, Mitsubishi, Omron, GE , Siemens…)  Experience with HMI screen design such as GE, Panelview , PROFACE…  Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting   Knowledge of e lectrical s tandard s (National Elec tric Code, ANSI, OSHA) is a plus   Familiar with electrical codes including NEC, NFPA 79, and UL 508A is a plus   Demonstrated PC skills (Ou tlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  Works precisely and pays close attention to details   Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously   Strong written and verbal communication skills   Must be self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment   A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required .   Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals   Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge   Experience with materi al handling equipment preferred   Must be available to work weekends, nights, over time, and holidays, as needed   Ability to travel to Project Sites as required (including international travel to Canada and Mexico)  Education and Experience BS in Electrical Engineering preferred  0-3 years experience in Electrical Engineering & Designing   Daifuku offers an excellent compensation package including great benefits such as excellent medical, vision, and dental insurance, paid vacation time, paid sick time, and paid holidays, 401K, Flexible Spending Programs, and more.
