We are seeking a Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team! This position will assemble electrical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications. Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience. Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble product. Wiring harness assembly, mount electrical components, and finish wire in junction box per schematic. Mount junction box and route cable assemblies on finish product.
Perform soldering, crimping, wiring, layout, and mounting of components per drawing or specification. Perform work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment. Preferred Education / Experience: Associates degree in related discipline 3+ years of experience or; A combination of education and experience equivalent to above Preferred Knowledge / Ability: Strong knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of special instruments for assembly and diagnostic purposes. Ability to read blue prints and technical specifications. Perform a high degree of precision work – wiring, soldering, crimping. Proficient with basic hand tools. Self-starter ability to work independently with little supervision. Strong communication, organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skills. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, produce a new concept and or idea. Why join Calspan?
