Job Summary: Moves racks of meat from smoke or fermentation chambers to drying rooms. Remove sticks of meat from rack and places them in drying bays. Labels/scans with handheld scanner products in drying bays. Returns racks to wash area. Removes excess casing from product with clippers. Washes product. Moves product to pre-pack area.
Duties and Essential Job Functions: · Moves racks of meat from smoke or fermentation chambers to drying rooms and returns racks to wash area.
· Remove sticks of meat from rack and places them in drying bays.
· Labels products in drying bays.
· Removes excess casing from product with clippers and washes product.
· Moves product to pre-pack area.
· Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
· Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) as required.
· Promotes, adheres, and is responsible for Food Safety and Quality.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Any other duties as assigned. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to use a handheld scanner, complete entry work on a touchpad, and print labels as product moves through the area.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, talk or hear and will be working from heights. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste/smell; and frequently required to climb to heights up to 30 feet, and must be able to reach all levels in the bay. The employee will frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and regularly lifts to 50 pounds.
