Sheridan Fruit Company began in 1916 as a produce stand and has grown into one of the premier retail & wholesale businesses in Portland. We are a full-service grocery store, deli, meat department, bulk aisle and wholesale department. SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for driving a truck on an established route to deliver goods to and from warehouse and/or to customers by performing the following duties.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives truck to deliver goods to customers and warehouse.
Loads and unloads truck.
Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery.
Collects or picks up empty containers or rejected or unsold merchandise.
Records deliveries information on daily delivery log.
Relays any customer concerns to management.
Resolves customer concerns while out in the field, if possible.


Cleans and maintains truck on a daily basis and when necessary.
Reads orders to ascertain order details including quantities of product.
Obtains products from bins or shelves.
Packages products for shipping.
Completes order receipts.
Keeps records of outgoing orders.
Performs required administrative tasks including all required reports and correspondence.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:


· This job has no supervisory responsibilities.


QUALIFICATIONS:


High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.


Other skills required: Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. COMPETENCIES:

• Frequently required to stand, walk, sit and exposed to outside weather conditions
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity, to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl, talk or hear
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Additional remarks regarding work environment: in and out of truck and buildings, up and down stairs
• Specialized equipment, machines, or vehicles used: company truck, hand truck, pallet jack, cell phone
