Job Title: Driver - Per Diem
Department: Adult Day Program
Job Objective: Provides transportation to Adult Day Program Clients
Minimum Qualifications: Education: H.S Diploma or GED
Experience: Working with older adults or individuals with physical or cognitive challenges
preferred. Experience with dementia a plus.
Licensure: Valid unrestricted Driver's License in your state of residence (must have possessed a Driver's License for at least 5 years).
Job Functions: Performing driving routes as assigned to bring clients to and from the center. Assist client's door-to-door. Transport clients in 4-8 passenger vehicles (Toyota candidate or transit) or accessible minivan, performing door-to-door assistance, utilizing wheelchair lift as needed. Drive for field trips as requested. Maintain vehicle trip records. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Knowledge/Skills/Ability: Must be patient, caring and ideally excited about brightening our client's lives each day. Interact in a professional manner at all times, exhibiting friendly behavior when working with clients, family members, collaborators, and co-workers. Report to work each day at scheduled time and adhere to lunch and/or break schedule. Complete all mandatory training each year. Confident and collaborative communicator Ability to maintain calm in the event of emergencies. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to handle multiple demands and tasks. Physical and Mental Requirements: Lifting/lowering Driving Fine hand & eye coordination Hearing ability Carrying Standing Walking Bending Pushing/pulling - primarily when assisting clients using wheelchair Environmental Conditions: Rare exposure to blood, body tissue or fluids.
