Purpose of Position: Assist Director of Early Learning in managing early learning programs (school and community based 4K program, Play and Learn, other early childhood related programs) Supervisory Responsibilities: Assist with supervision of Early Learning Teacher Leaders, school based 4K teachers (in conjunction with principals), Early Learning Administrative Assistant, Play and Learn Leaders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist Director of Early Learning in all aspects of managing early learning programs (listed above) Relay expectations around teaching practices to school based 4K teachers Relay expectations of use of curriculum and assessment to school based 4K teachers Support school based and ECE site 4K teachers with use of curriculum and assessment Partner with school principals to support 4K teacher within the principal's building Assist principal with reinforcing instructional expectations with 4K teacher, and help develop plans of improvement for 4K teachers, when necessary Communicate with Early Care and Education (ECE) center Directors regularly to support 4K program within ECE sites Issue contracts to partnering ECE sites for 4K Manage and monitor entire 4K contract process with ECE sites for a given school year Work with MMSD HR Department to complete all necessary steps for licensing of 4K teachers in ECE Sites Coordinate process for ECE site access to Infinite Campus and MMSD email Develop necessary ECE site access processes Assist with annual school based 4K section development and allocation plan Assist with all aspects of annual enrollment processes and procedures for incoming 4K students and families Develop and monitor communication plan to launch 4K annually Assist in ensuring ECE site adherence to 4K contract Assist in developing all 4K policies and procedures as necessary Assist in developing all communication tools as necessary (brochures, fliers, websites) Assist in providing daily communication to all stakeholders (teachers, directors, principals, families, related departments) Assist with department budget related monitoring and decision making Assist in day-to-day decision making and communication for 4K program Coordinate communication for completion of report cards Monitor completion of report cards Coordinate all aspects of early entrance (review/revise application and all other related communication tools, approve applications, communicate with families and all other stakeholders when necessary) and serve as district designee. Coordinate 4K summer semester with 4K teacher leaders Coordinate and collect DPI 4K family outreach requirements Support Early Learning Administrative Assistant and Teacher Leaders Meet with school based 4K teachers regularly Meet with ECE site directors as necessary Assist with providing professional development for teachers and educational assistants Coordinate all aspects of Play and Learn program (oversight, decision making, policy and procedure development, management of Play and Learn Leaders, purchasing, managing resources, hiring) Collaborate and communicate with related departments regularly, as necessary Assist in related committee work within district and out of district Assist with all necessary meetings Employees with disabilities must meet qualification standards that are job-related and consistent with business necessity and must be able to perform the "essential functions" of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications:
Hold a teaching license Hold an administrator license - Director of Instruction, Principal Ability to analyze Ability to problem solve Ability to develop systems Ability to plan and implement programs Ability to support all related staff effectively Ability to communicate effectively Ability to organize and manage responsibilities and workload Ability to make decisions related to personnel issues Ability to learn new applications as necessary Ability to build and maintain positive relationships Ability to make sounds decisions regularly Ability to maintain fiscal responsibility License Requirements: Administration - Director of Instruction, Principal
Length of Work: 225 day contract
Working Conditions: Work with all stakeholders to implement early learning programs including teachers, families, administrators, community members, other related department staff. Work as needed (including evenings, weekends). Travel in the city of Madison when necessary (have a valid driver's license).
Physical Requirements:
Position should be able to bend, stoop, get on the ground and be able to lift up to 40 lbs as we are continually delivering family outreach, materials and supplies to our ECE sites.
