Under the general direction of the Chief Financial Officer in the Department of Medicine, Business Operations Manager is responsible for the daily operations for the central Finance Office in the Department of Medicine. The Department of Medicine has 11 subdivisions, more than 300 employees and more than $52 million in expenditures annually. The Business Operations Manager plays a key role in the Department Senior Management team, which includes the Department Chair, CAO, CFO and MSO's across the divisions and works directly with the CAO and CFO to develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient and effective business operations across a large department. The incumbent develops and recommends changes to departmental policies, procedures and guidelines for processing of financial transactions. Total Compensation:

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $73,900.00 - $92,835.00 (Annual Salary). The Full Salary Range for the salary grade this position is assigned to is $73,900.00 - $133,700.00 (Annual Salary). Department Website: Required: Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience Working knowledge of budget preparation, financial and administrative Analysis Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and employ effective problem solving techniques Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures from a variety of entities an develop procedures for policy implementation 1 Ability to interpret and summarize complex financial information and narrative reports pertaining to such topics as budget development fiscal planning and reconciliation Ability to audit documents and determine compliance to policies Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality of financial and personnel matters Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications Working knowledge of University general accounting, payroll accounting, contract and grant accounting and purchasing policies and procedures. Ability to collect and analyze data Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage a complex workload in an environment with changing priorities.
Preferred: Demonstrated experience with UC accounting, purchasing and equipment management policies. Working knowledge of School of Medicine and faculty salary compensation processes, include the Health Sciences Faculty Compensation Plan.
