Prof. Sichen Yuan boasts an impressive academic and professional background, having earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Southern California's Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering, and his bachelor's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Before his current role, he was part of the faculty at Lawrence Technological University in the Department of Mechanical, Industrial, and Robotics Engineering from 2019 to 2023. Prof. Yuan's research interests are broad and include deployable structures, mechanical vibrations, micro-robots, artificial intelligence, and metamaterials. His work has been recognized and published in several leading academic journals, including the International Journal of Solids and Structures, AIAA Journal, Engineering Structures, and Acta Astronautica. His research has also received support from prestigious institutions such as the National Science Foundation, American Heart Association, and the Office of Naval Research.
