Compensation $69,831.00-$81,469.00 Limited Term End Date 4-8-2024 Position Summary Under direction from the Executive Director of Student Persistence and Completion, the Director of TRIO is responsible for overseeing the TRIO grant, including planning and coordinating program activities, supervising personnel, and reporting related to the proper application of grant provisions, staff supervision, grant reporting, and fiscal management. Duties & Responsibilities Oversees adherence to procedures established for the efficient and effective delivery of services in compliance with the grant. Incorporates strategies to ensure project objectives are met to include maximum participation in grant funded activities by eligible student participants. Communicates processes for identifying and selecting students eligible to participate in the program. Coordinates the development and implementation of project activities; develops methods for communicating grant objectives to community members, project staff and the college as a whole. Stays abreast of U.S. Department of Education policies and grant terms/conditions to ensure the program operates in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Oversees the preparation and monitoring of fiscal and technical reports. Reviews and approves expenditures related to the program and provides monthly approval to business office to draw from US dept. of treasury. Develops methods to evaluate and monitor effectiveness of the program through post-tests and the collection, compilation, and verification of project data. Manages staff to include hiring, assignments, training, and evaluating performance; coordinates and assists academic coaches, maintains a tutoring/mentoring program for participants Monitors the program budget in coordination with the Contracts and Grants Office. Serves on Institutional committees and task teams, acting as liaison between the program and administration and contributing to strategic planning initiatives of the College, while advocating for students. Develops an annual strategic plan for marketing, recruitment, budget, and program retention of TRIO Students. Develops strategies that include educational, social, and annual events such as graduation. Establishes participant database and supervises data collection and entry. Coordinates publicity and public relations efforts for the program. Counsels and advises participants. Prepares progress reports related to program activities for U.S. Department of Education and the college. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifcations: Master's degree in related field and five (5) years of related experience which include supervisory experience. Preferences: Bilingual. Grant Experience. Community College Experience. Direct experience working with 1st Generation Students, Low-Income or students with disabilities.
