Description of Work: The Food Processing Center is a multi-disciplinary resource for food and bioprocessing industries, providing a combination of consulting, educational, and technical services in a confidential, price-competitive, and timely manner. The successful candidate for the position will travel as needed to manage business development relationships, market FPC capabilities, oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate projects and galvanize financial stability of the FPC . Success in the role will be measured by return on IANR's investment and the accomplishments and impacts of the faculty, staff and the programs of the Center. As Director of the Food Processing Center, you will: Manage and direct the daily operations to support the day-to-day activities of staff by fostering an inclusive culture Facilitate development, implementation and evaluation to address client needs Manage and lead in building business development relationships by fostering interdisciplinary ties with departments and programs within the University and facilitating linkages to external food production and bioprocessing professionals Source financial and in-kind support to fund research, development and outreach Develop proposed project agreements and establish priorities and plans for projects Coordinate marketing efforts of services to industry clientele and partners and promote the Dairy Store retail operations

Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in discipline or field relevant to preservation and transformation of food and other agricultural material plus six years increasingly responsible experience within the food or bioprocessing industry. Experience managing increasingly complex projects/programs in a technical environment. Experience in operations management and building strong business development relationships with clients, stakeholders and service providers to reach outcome driven solutions. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in discipline or field relevant to Food Science and Technology plus ten years increasingly responsible experience within the food or bioprocessing industry. Administrative experience in an academic environment including direct supervision of staff, budgets, expenditures, and program and brand development. Significant and successful experience with startup companies or entrepreneurial endeavors. Significant and successful experience in marketing services for food and bioprocessing industries. Preventative Controls Qualified Individual, HACCP , Project Management licensure/certification preferred. Posted Salary: $110,000/yr minimum
