For more information about FIU, visit  . Provides leadership in the implementation of The Education Effect, FIU's university-assisted community school initiative. Oversees on-site program staff at each partner school. Supports the Assistant Vice President in the development and execution of strategic plans to advance FIU's engagement with and service to the South Florida education community.
Directs the communication, development, and day-to-day operations of The Education Effect university-assisted community school initiative, which is based on the following community schooling pillars: integrated student supports, expanded learning time and opportunities, family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership and practices. Maintains alignment between initiative goals and FIU strategic priorities. Leads efforts toward meeting the goals and objectives of the $1.5MM Full-Service Community Schools grant throughout its nine (9) school sites. Liaises with leadership from Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) to fulfill the project's school improvement mission. Directs efforts toward meeting the Miami-Dade regional goals and objectives of the $9.1MM Unlimited Potential Initiative (UPI) grant throughout its ten (10) school sites. Liaises with leadership from MDCPS in the co-management of the project and with the University of Central Florida's Center for Community Schools to ensure efficacy for the state-wide UPI effort. Leads the deployment of university resources in support of the Community Partnership School initiative and its three (3) school sites. Liaises with leadership from the Children's Home Society and MDCPS to fulfill the project's school improvement mission. Develops and stewards partnerships with public agencies, corporations, non-profits, and local school districts to promote FIU's interests and commitment to the educational attainment of Floridians. Provides oversight to on-site program staff at each partner school location, who manage daily operations and programming, afterschool and summer projects, as well as parent and community outreach. Represents the partnership throughout neighboring school districts, in the local community, and at state-wide and national forums for community school partnerships. Develops enrichment programs that are social, recreational, educational, and cultural for participants in Education Effect activities. Evaluates, assesses, and analyzes overall program/project effectiveness. Manages sponsored grants in accordance with grant objectives, scope, and budgets. Directs The Education Effect activities to ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, and practices, and with federal, state, local, and legal regulatory standards. Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and eight (8) years of related work experience or Master's degree in a related field and six (6) years of related work experience. Desired Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Social Work, Student Affairs, or related discipline. Experience working with or in urban public K-12 school systems. Experience working with students from special populations or underrepresented groups such as first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities. Experience with or knowledge of educational equity and/or social impact trends and practices. Experience in grant writing/management, public speaking, and presentations. Job Category:
