The Director of Perioperative Services is responsible for all aspects of assigned unit/s activities: collaborates with leadership, departments and physicians on behalf of improving care to the patients served by the unit. Develops, maintains and monitors clinical standards, and maintains 24-hour line responsibility for fiscal, human, and material resources for assigned unit. Functions as an integral part of the leadership team and participates in other assigned duties; meets organizational performance standards. The Director leads strategic initiatives of Surgical Services, Peri-Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-Admission Screening Unit, and Sterile processing. This position reports to Chief Clinical Officer (CCO). This position is salaried, exempt. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience: Bachelor's degree (BSN) from ACEN or CCNE accredited school of nursing desired; a Bachelor's degree in related field required; Master's degree preferred. At least 5 years perioperative and/or management experience required. Proven knowledge and skills: Expert delegation skills. Proficient skills in process improvement and efficiency development. Proficient in new program development and implementation. Expert communication skills and interpersonal relationships with the ability to collaborate with diverse personalities and ability to be tactful, mature and flexible. Expert skills in time-management with the ability to work independently and take initiative. Expert conflict resolution skills Computer keyboard and intermediate computer operating knowledge required; experience with Microsoft Office products and software relevant to duties required including the electronic medical record. Licensure, registration or certification: Nursing licensure in the state of Kansas; BLS; ACLS; certification in area of specialty or ability to obtain within 2 years of hire. Certified Nurse, Operating Room certification preferred.
