This position is responsible for operational leadership and developing long-term relationships with large customers. This includes connecting with key business executives and stakeholders and actively seek new opportunities to grow our business with the customer. As the Director, Business Operations, you are responsible for ensuring the programs run effectively and efficiently. You will oversee team members, subcontractors and vendors to ensure all expectations of the programs are met. The Director, Business Operations is responsible for growth, overall operations and the successful management of productivity, quality control and safety measures as established and set for the Operations Team.
Essential Responsibilities: Lead and develop team members based on a core value driven culture that encourages top performance with compassion Lead programs to increase the energy efficiency in direct installation, education and audits, and rebate programs Manage and grow program scope with existing clients Manage and develop a trusted advisor relationship with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters by assisting with challenging client requests or issue escalations Forecast, deliver on and track key account metrics (e.g. quarterly results and annual forecasts) Clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations Basic Qualifications : Bachelor's degree required in energy, engineering or business or a related field, or equivalent experience 5+ years proven success in a business development role, preferably with experience in energy efficiency industry 3+ years' experience in the energy efficiency industry Experience in managing and building high level utility relationships Demonstrated experience in managing multi-million-dollar contracts, key account client relationships, business development, and staff and resource management Strategic, hands-on leadership with exceptional organizational, communications, and people management skills Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level Experience leading and motivating a team to generate results Proven track record of successful business development expertise Deliver consistent performance against set targets on key customer satisfaction measures and carry out weekly reviews of KPI's Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Encourage a positive work environment and culture for all team members Experience with at Microsoft Office Suite Desired Qualifications: Advanced degree, preferred Licenses & Certifications LEED Accreditation preferred CEM (Certified Energy Manager) preferred PMP preferred Physical Demands and Work Environment Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl Ability to lift up to 30 pounds Noise level is typically low to moderate
