Job Description Director of Behavioral Health Pharmacy Services This position is responsible for overseeing the Clinical Pharmacy's role in delivering and supporting Behavioral Health Services. This position approaches his/her tasks in a team-based care fashion that supports patients and their families in a self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change. Primary responsibilities of this position include participating in an innovative ambulatory care clinical practice at Salud Family Health Services. This position will provide direct patient care within a multidisciplinary model, including care under collaborative drug therapy management protocols. Clinical pharmacy services at Salud are model sites for pharmacy student and pharmacy resident training and afford opportunities for scholarly work.

Salud will contribute 5% of your base salary each month Our Mission is to provide a quality, integrated healthcare home to the communities we serve Supervision Received: This position is supervised by Salud's Chief Medical Officer. This position works with their clinic's Center Management Director for scheduling for delivery of patient care
Supervision Exercised: This position exercises supervision over pharmacy students and residents as assigned
Specific Duties: Engage in providing clinical care services in the area of ambulatory care, including, but not limited to, practicing under Collaborative Practice Agreements, in the areas of depression, anxiety, bipolar depression, diabetes, and hypertension Coordinating the delivery of integrated pharmacy services for patients with substance use disorders and/ or receiving behavioral health services Helping to increase the comfort level of other providers in the treatment of substance use and behavioral health disorders Provide quality experiential teaching services including precepting student Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences (IPPEs) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences (APPEs), evaluating student performance using various assessment methods, mentoring and advising students. Supervising the clinical activities of pharmacy residents is expected Produce scholarly work focused on the provision of ambulatory care/psychiatric pharmacy clinical services in a multidisciplinary model Works in conjunction with Medical Providers, Dental providers, Behavioral Health Providers, and all other staff to ensure that patients obtain the highest standard of integrated healthcare Acts as a patient advocate for our vulnerable populations by ensuring that patients are fully informed and comfortable with their visit to Salud Follows the procedures for the electronic health records system. Limited participation in professional service activities such as university or school committee work, participation in professional organizations, and attendance at seminars, conferences, special courses, and scientific meetings Instructs intern, students, and other medical personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy Attends and participates in other activities conducted by Salud (i.e., staff training, educational sessions, meetings, etc.) Helps to ensure compliance with all federal and state, rules and regulations Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Education: Pharm.D. degree and advanced training, preferably through a PGY2 residency or similar experience in ambulatory care or psychiatric pharmacy Candidates should have obtained board certification in ambulatory care or psychiatric pharmacy, or successfully complete board certification within one year of hire Experience: Previous experience and proficiency in medical Spanish is strongly preferred but not required Applicants not proficient in medical Spanish will be expected to invest a concerted and ongoing effort to become so Licensure: Possess a license to practice pharmacy in good standing in the State of Colorado Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Contemporary Pharmacy Practice (including general aspects of pharmacy practice as well as those specifically related to the area of ambulatory care/psychiatric pharmacy) Teaching Ability Interpersonal Skills Must work well with the other patient care team members Written and Verbal Communication Skills Analytical and Reasoning Ability Problem Solving/Decision-Making Ability Planning and Organizing Ability Project Management Ability Effectively work within a multidisciplinary team including the performance of scheduled as well as impromptu duties The application window is anticipated to close by 5/31/24
