Digital Consultants is seeking a Director to develop, supervise, organize, and manage the day-to-day operations of the STARBASE Peterson Academy. This individual shall act as the liaison with military, community, and business leaders; liaison with schools/school districts and base school liaison officer; community relations; personnel; curriculum design; fiscal planning; providing annual reports to DoD STARBASE, and execution; staff hiring and dismissal; staff development; and all other activities of the STARBASE Academy.

Duties to include: Overall supervision and management of the STARBASE Peterson program and designated satellite facilities. Implement Standard Operating Procedures for the STARBASE program and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) among STARBASE and local school agencies. Coordinate, supervise and administer STARBASE program requirements, marketing plan, and business plan. Hiring, dismissal, management, supervision, and annual written evaluations of STARBASE Academy staff. Represent the program at initial training, and annual training conferences as required per -OASD(M&RA). Typically, one week in length and within the Continental United States. Implement program guidelines, policies, and procedures according to the DoDI or OASD(M&RA). Develop and coordinate partnerships with schools, businesses, and Government agencies. Make available for review upon request end-of-quarter reports for the STARBASE program to the designated COR for review no later than 10 calendar days following the end of the quarter. These reports should contain at a minimum: Monthly and Quarterly Financial data requested by DOD Five-day schedule of STARBASE Activities for the quarter Name and number of schools served Number of students served Annual assessments as required Number and type of classes conducted Update on fundraising opportunities and community collaborations Volunteers for: Tours – site of tour and number of volunteers Guest speaker Other volunteers Oversee and ensure approved DOD STARBASE Standards, Objectives, and Approved Lessons are properly implemented for Academy program Develop, document, and maintain correlation of STARBASE Academy lessons with State and National STEM standards Develop and implement supplemental STEM programs to be conducted during local school holidays or breaks according to the DODI or OASD(M&RA) Develop and implement STARBASE Advanced after-school program for middle school students according to the DODI or OASD(M&RA) Receive visitors; receive, review, and distribute all incoming correspondence, including creating a point-of-contact list Maintain quality control of official documents, including travel vouchers, purchase orders, contracts, schedules, and other documents designated by the COR Prepare outgoing correspondence Maintain program records, files, and databases, consolidating data for end-of-year reports and other reports as needed Set up and maintain the program website and social media content Coordinate with schools for attendance, schedules, enrollment forms, and any schedule changes Maintain a schedule, create agenda, take minutes, and distribute minutes for staff and board meetings Formulate and update program goals, objectives, and strategies as necessary Conduct evaluations, collect data, and prepare statistical summaries of program data All other duties and activities necessary for mission success Requirements: Knowledge of internet-based tools, Google Workspace, as well as Microsoft Office products Knowledge of strategic planning, business plan development, marketing strategies and budgeting Experience in education, supervision, and management of educational programs Knowledge of military policies, procedures, and protocol Knowledge of program evaluation methods and development of outcome measures Ability to work with public officials, military leaders, school district liaisons, PSFB school liaison officer, influential citizens, and corporate leaders Complete initial PTC/Onshape 3D CAD training to meet requirements for instructing students on the required CAD software. Ability to travel locally via POV locally, as necessary for mission success Ability and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for community outreach, supplemental events, and training, as needed Ability to travel nationally, as required, approximately once per year Qualification Criteria: Education: A bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in a STEM field or Education, combined with at least five years of experience in the field of education or program management. Experience understanding and ability to implement Curriculum and Instruction in DOD STARBASE STEM content Must pass the security and background checks for working on a DoD facility and working with children within 30 days of being hired. No interaction with children shall be authorized until a background check is complete Experience with developing and implementing new programs and initiatives Experience in creating, developing, and implementing training workshops Experience in organization, administrative problem-solving, conflict resolution, and record keeping Obtain and maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/First Aid certification Physical Requirements: To fulfill the duties of the position, it will require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds on occasion. The position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, or walking, as well as frequent bending and reaching. Occasional use of a ladder may also be required from time to time.
