Director Global Logistics

Invenia Group is working with a rapidly expanding specialist manufacturer of scientific instrumentation to hire a Director of Global Logistics. The company manufactures specialist proteomic instrumentation, kits and services used across a wide range of immunology applications. Their customers include pharma, biopharma, biotech, academia and CROs. The company prides itself on having a great market reputation for the quality and reliability of its products and services.
The Role: This role will be responsible for implementing end-to-end shipping operations planning worldwide, focusing on N. America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. The role will have one direct report and future scope to grow a team. It will be working closely with different departments including Sales, Finance, Operations, and Quality & Regulatory etc.
Responsibilities: Oversee and manage global logistics for shipping and delivery as well as end-user supply chain network design. Establish metrics/goals to help achieve this.Ensure goods are transported and delivered promptlyManage importation and customs clearance process into regions outside the USManage the specialist delivery networks used by the company and lead contracting and price negotiations with these partners.Be responsible for regulatory affairs management of shipped productsKeep up to date on regulatory requirements in the industryIdentify process improvement opportunities, focusing on urgent business needs while keeping in mind long-term organisation strategy and growth plans.Lead the budgeting and strategic planning process for the global supply chain operations.Develop contingent plans in case of disruptions that could happen to the global supply chain.What we are looking for: Educated to Degree level or higher10 years + of experience managing global supply chains including in EU, US and APAC territoriesHave extensive knowledge of global shipping logistics and services for biological materialsHave extensive knowledge of contracts, negotiation, and vendor managementThis position comes with a competitive salary and benefits package, please apply to find out more.
