Director of Communications and Digital Media
Employment Category: Exempt, Full-Time
Location: Remote. We practice a remote-first work culture for all team members. Preferred candidates will have reasonable access to a major airport for ease of travel.

Position Overview:
As the Director of Communications and Digital Media, you'll lead the creative communications strategy for our company and our Foundation. This role involves managing mass and targeted communications, crafting digital materials, collaborating with volunteer publications teams, and ensuring all content aligns with our brand. We're seeking a professional with expertise in strategic communications, digital design, and multi-platform management to execute our communication strategies effectively.
The ideal candidate possesses a creative flair, showcasing the fraternity/sorority profession and our efforts to elevate it. You should thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility in engaging with constituents and team members while employing strong conceptual and analytical skills. Successful candidates will be innovative, anticipating communication trends to keep our organization current, and adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Critical Skills and Competencies:
Strong Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects with varying responsibilities and expectations, leading them to completion.
Multimedia Literacy: Understanding the interaction between communication methods and delivering content that informs and engages our audience effectively.
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in various communication and design platforms including Pardot, Canva, WordPress, Adobe Creative Cloud, video editing tools, and social media platforms.
Innovation and Creativity: Bringing a fresh, creative approach to communication strategies to amplify our impact and engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, public relations, or digital media.
Experience with Salesforce Pardot B2B Marketing Automation Platform, WordPress, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
3-5 years of professional experience in roles involving communications, design, or social media.
Responsibilities:
Social and Digital Media (35%): Develop and execute an engaging online presence and social media strategy for our company, including content creation, platform management, and video storytelling.
Association/Foundation Email Communications (25%): Design and implement email campaigns to effectively communicate with our audience, showcasing opportunities and impacts.
Publications Management (15%): Collaborate with volunteer teams to strengthen our publications, serving as a copy editor and designer for commissioned articles.
Website Management (10%): Maintain and enhance the web presence of [Company] and the Foundation, utilizing multimedia approaches.
Teamwork and Collaboration (10%): Work collaboratively within the team, providing and receiving feedback, and supporting shared decision-making.
Annual Meeting Event Coordination (5%): Coordinate visual elements for the AFA Annual Meeting to ensure a compelling presentation.
Compensation Package:
Anticipated Base Salary: Approximately $60,000/year
Benefits: Performance bonus opportunities, work-from-home support, professional development assistance, PTO, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
Travel: Moderate overnight travel required for events and meetings, including the AFA Annual Meeting.
Physical Requirements: Primarily office-based work, occasionally requiring adjusted schedules to meet deadlines or support events.
